Our CTO Dr. Naganawa Featured in Nikkei Article on Rare Earth Technologies
Emulsion Flow Technologies and our CTO Naganawa were featured in the Nikkei special series “Conditions for Becoming a Rare Earth Power (Extra Edition).”
The series highlights recent developments in Japan in technologies aimed at recycling rare earth elements and reducing their consumption.
The article introduces our work as a startup originating from the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), developing technology to efficiently recover rare earth elements from used neodymium magnets under a project commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
Our emulsion flow method significantly improves the efficiency of conventional solvent extraction processes. According to the article, the technology could increase processing speed by approximately four times while reducing equipment size to less than one quarter of conventional systems.
Emulsion Flow Technologies will continue advancing resource separation and recovery technologies using the emulsion flow method, contributing to the circular use of critical resources and a more sustainable society.
