Emulsion Flow Technologies Ltd. (“EFT”), headquartered in Ibaraki, Japan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with HYSYTECH S.r.l. (“HYSYTECH”), an Italian engineering company headquartered in the Province of Turin, covering collaboration in engineering and marketing for the PFAS treatment business.

Through this collaboration under the MOU, EFT aims to strengthen its ability to respond to customer needs in Europe and accelerate the path from demonstration to commercialization of its PFAS removal and concentration solutions based on its proprietary emulsion flow technology. HYSYTECH, meanwhile, aims to create new business opportunities, particularly in the PFAS treatment field, by combining EFT’s separation and concentration technology with its own engineering and system integration capabilities.

Strengthening Engineering and Demonstration Capabilities in Europe

On the engineering side, EFT and HYSYTECH will combine EFT’s emulsion flow technology with HYSYTECH’s system integration and EPC capabilities, including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, to strengthen their ability to support PFAS treatment projects in Europe.

As part of this collaboration, the companies will develop pilot testing and on-site demonstration capabilities utilizing HYSYTECH’s facilities. This is intended to establish a more responsive framework covering the process from initial process evaluation of wastewater and other samples provided by European customers, through customer-site demonstration, and ultimately to deployment of commercial-scale systems.

By strengthening local demonstration and engineering capabilities in Europe, EFT aims to respond more quickly to customer needs and accelerate the commercialization and revenue generation of its PFAS treatment business in the European market.

Joint Marketing Leveraging HYSYTECH’s Network

On the marketing side, the two companies plan to pursue joint participation in exhibitions and conferences, joint customer proposals, and business development activities leveraging HYSYTECH’s customer and business network in Europe.

Through its collaboration with HYSYTECH, EFT intends to bring to the European market the unique value of its emulsion flow technology for PFAS removal and high-concentration treatment, while advancing integrated solutions in combination with existing water treatment technologies and PFAS destruction technologies.

For HYSYTECH, incorporating EFT’s emulsion flow technology into its technology portfolio is also expected to broaden the range of solutions it can offer customers in the PFAS treatment field and create new business opportunities.
